CANDIED FRUITS ARE IN THE SPOTLIGHT AT EPIPHANY

Since January 6, Emblematic flavors of Provence, candied fruits have been in the spotlight at Epiphany. Sweet and colorful, they give all the soul and taste of Provencal Kings Cake. It is a brioche crown scented with orange blossom and adorned with candied fruits. For instance, you can find Cherry, Apricot, Melon, Orange, Lemon or Clementine. It looks like a crown adorned with precious jewels ! The tradition of the Epiphany dates back to the end of the 14th century. It is when the first kings raffle was made by the Popes, lovers of candied fruit, settled in Avignon. Candied Fruits became part of the Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2018. Indeed, candied fruits are a famous delicacy appreciated by all and proof of a unique and ancestral know-how.
